Can installing a safe be a DIY job?
It is possible for the homeowner to install a safe, or at least decide on the location and pre-drill holes into the wall ready for the installation of the safe. However, a DIY job may not be covered by home insurance policies. It is best to check with your insurer and your current policy to see if you are covered. Of course, if you choose a fully certified safe locksmith, such as us, your insurer will much prefer it and will provide you with the insurance cover you ask for.
Is it safer to fix a safe to a floor?
Some safes have holes that have pre-drilled holes in the base. This allows for the option of floor installation. However, the floor must have a solid surface for the safe to be secure. If the floor is not that solid, then a wall installation is the preferred option.
What happens when you ask a locksmith to open a safe for you?
Many people who have a safe don’t always open it regularly. It may happen only once a month or even less. It’s easy to forget the combination. If the name of the manufacturer, the model of the safe and the serial number is known, you may be able to find out the safe’s code from the manufacturer or the company you bought it from, but you will need to show you are the rightful owner. If this is not possible, you can call on Orange Locksmith to help out. Of course, we won’t just open anybody’s home safe without making sure you are the rightful owner. The technician will want to see a document that confirms the ownership of the safe. Once the ownership has been confirmed, the safe can be examined to see if it is possible to pick the lock, or fit it with a new key.
If you have valuables and you choose to store them in a home safe and you have problems with the locking mechanism, or you simply want an upgrade, Orange Locksmith has the experience and technical knowledge to meet any of your needs.
